Thomas Weidner (Trombone) holds degrees in music from Bucks County Community College and West Chester University. Additionally, he holds a Master’s degree in education from Kutztown University.
Currently, Tom is a trombonist and the assistant conductor of the Allentown based Royalaires big band. Tom is a founding member of the Carbon County’s Faculty Brass and is a member of the Bethlehem based Dave Neith Orchestra. He enjoys an active freelancing career in the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia regions and is a published composer/arranger on sheetmusicplus.com. In his spare time, Tom enjoys attending sporting events and even works as a ring announcer at local professional wrestling shows on occasion.
Chris Gerhart (Trumpet) - holds a Bachelor's of Music from Temple University and a Master's in Music Education from Boston University. He has studied trumpet with Steve Woytowicz and Don McComas, former assistant principal trumpet of the Philadelphia Orchestra. Chris is a founding member of the Galena Brass and the Little Brass Band of the Lehigh Valley and continues to perform with both groups. Chris can be heard with the Philadelphia German Brass Band during the fall and is an active freelance musician in the greater Philadelphia area. Currently, he is a middle school band director in the Bristol Township School District and has a successful private trumpet studio at Music and Arts in Horsham, PA.
Matthew Nieznay (Trumpet) - holds a BA in Music (Trumpet) and a BS in Music Education from Kutztown University. He has been teaching privately for over 15 years in the Berks and Lehigh County areas. Since 2013 he has been on staff as a Brass instructor for the Spring-Ford Area HS Marching Band in Royersford, PA. Aside from his teaching obligations Mr. Nieznay is also an active perform with the Mirandola Fanfare Trumpets, the Galena Brass, the Little Brass Band of the Lehigh Valley and the Municipal Band of Allentown. He has also performed with the Reading Choral Society Orchestra, the Pennsylvania Chamber Brass, the Pottstown Symphony, and the Schuylkill Symphony and as a member of the pit orchestra for Mulenberg College’s summer theater programs. Mr. Nieznay is also a proud veteran of the United States Navy where he served as a Hospital Corpsman for the Fleet Marine Force. Currently, he is the Director of Operations for Zeswitz Music.
Dr. Mark Benson (Bass Trombone) - not much is know about Mark. We do know that is originally from Big Rapids Michigan and has a degree from Central Michigan State University. Mark can be heard playing any low brass instrument needed all over the greater Philadelphia area. Additionally, he runs a very successful piano tuning business, MB pianos.
Wayne Grumbein (Percussion) resides in Allentown, PA. Wayne is the principal percussionist in Municipal Band of Allentown. Also, Wayne is the drummer for the Hometown German Band and enjoys performing with the Rajah Shriners of Reading, PA.
Sue Halteman (Trumpet) holds a Bachelor's of Music from Penn State University and a Master's from Texas Tech University. Susan has studied with Frank Kaderabek, retired Principal Trumpet of the Philadelphia Orchestra. She is currently on the faculty of the Community Conservatory in Doylestown, PA. Susan maintains an extensive performance schedule with the Quakertown Band as well as freelancing and teaching private lessons in the area.
